What
are my raw log files? How do I read them?
When you connect to the server, there will either be a file with a .log
extension either in the root directory or contained in a directory called
w3svc... . This file holds information about the performance of your site.
In order to read it, you need a program that will interpret the
information. If you are using a higher account, a program called
Statistics 5.0 is included. This program will produce a detailed list of
information about your web site.
-
When I
type www.mydomain.xxx into my browser my site does not come up? But when I
put in the IP address, it works. Why?
When we registered or transferred your domain name with InterNic, the
process is not complete on the same day. It usually takes 2 to 3 business
days for your domain name to propagate throughout all DNS servers,
including ours.
-
When I
type my domain name or IP address in my browser I get a 1.0 403 Access
Forbidden error message. Why?
This means that the server can not find your default.htm or index.htm
file. Make sure you have uploaded that file.
-
Can
I make files available for download by visitors to my site?
Yes. This is called anonymous FTP. If you wish to have this option, fill
out a
Tech
Support form with your request.
This option will allow people to download files you may have for download.
The easiest way is to create a link to your own FTP directory. For
example, if the file was test.exe, then the link should be something like
ftp://mydomain.xxx/my alias/test.exe
-
How do
I set up files to be placed on Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)?
You need to create a folder in your root directory called
"Secure". Place the files in that folder. Go to the technical
support request form located at
http://www.Caribe-Web
.net/support and submit your request to our technical department. They
will enter your directory and place the folder on the SSL
-
What
happens when my account goes over the storage or transfer limits?
You will be responsible for all overages with your account. The fees for
storage over the limits is $5.00 per 25 MB. The fees for transfer over the
limit is $ 1.00 per MB. If you feel you are going to go over your limits,
please contact your original sales agent and discuss upgrading to a higher
plan.

These 2 accounts are set up by default when we establish your mail account. These
accounts do not count toward your plan limit. The "root" account is not an
e-mail account and should not be used. The "username," account is needed for you
to access the mail set up to change, add, or delete mail accounts. Please do not use this
account as an e-mail address or delete it.

users forward mail to their dial up account. To set up this option, create a new user and
scroll to bottom of the page. There is a field titled "forwarding address." Put

-
Account: POP account your checking for mail
-

An e-mail alias is not an e-mail account. It is simply an additional user
that is set up to perform the same function as a regular e-mail address. For example, you
can set up an alias for your account info@yourdomain.com. Let's say it was info2. If
anyone sent an e-mail to info2@yourdomain.com, it would end up at info@yourdomain.com even
though info2 is not a real e-mail address. To set up an alias, log into the mail
administration, choose user administration, then click add alias. You will see a prompt
asking for the alias, which in this example would be info2. Then enter the correct mail
account info that alias is pointing to and click save.

In order for your forms to send mail correctly using
formmail.pl, the
e-mail recipient MUST be an e-mail located under your domain. Those results can not be
forwarded to any other e-mail address. You must retrieve those results using a mail client
directly from the mail server.

In this case, it is usually due to the domain name you have. If it is a
transfer of your domain, the propagation may not have taken place via the
InterNic. If it
was a new domain, the same would apply. If you have the mail IP address, type that into
your browser followed by :8181, it should work.

Yes. We do not allow sending of mail through our mail servers. We do
have some limitations to it to protect our clients from Spam and bulk e-mail. Just one customer who spams on a
particular mail server can adversely affect hundreds of other clients mail service. Always
set your SMTP server to that of your dial up account.
